CIPS were looking for an architect that they felt was on the same wavelength as they were and that easily understood what they were looking for. Based in a unit in Blackrock in Cork that was too small for their ever increasing needs , the brief was to create a bright airy space and a good atmosphere for its employees in a new unit at Nessan House, Blackrock, Cork.
Reducing sound in the open plan space was key to the success of this project. Sound absorption panels were used as decorative features to help with this along with using different density materials in the build-up of the low level partitions to reduce the amount of sound waves traveling through. This project was delivered in a particularly short time frame.
